Shirley Brink of Sylvania was born 6/6 /1937 in Brooklyn New York to parents Benjamin and Betty (Salinger) Davis. She died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 14, 2019 in Sylvania Ohio.
Shirley worked for Dell publishing and Toledo public library prior to her career at Toledo Job and family services, from which she retired as a statistical analyst after 30+ years. Shirley will be remembered as a vibrant, generous and loving person who was an avid shopper and collector of various items. She loved arts and entertainment, and enjoyed many years with her special friend and constant companion Dennis Jendrzejak. Shirley was a fan of the Oakland Raiders.
She is survived by her sister, Helene Hersh, Son Aaron (Kimberly) Gumenik, daughter Madelaine Gumenik, grand children Justin, Samantha, Briana, Kourtney, Mitchell, Christopher, Michaela, and Austin and great grandchildren Jaden and Luna. Nephews Roy (Dorene) Hersh, Mitchell (Karen) Hersh, and great nieces Alexis, Taylor and Simone. Shirley found great joy in her grandchildren in recent years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Betty Davis.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 22 At 2 PM at Compelled Church, 8970 Jackman Road, Temperance Michigan. In Lieu of flowers please consider donating towards a memorial to be determined by the family. Shirley was not a fan of cut flowers, they were more enjoyable if they were allowed to grow. If you desire to donate towards a memorial please contact Madelaine or Kimberly for direction. Thank you Pawlak funeral service and Compelled Church For your service.
